iPod Car Accessories

If I buy an MP4 player that is *not* an ipod, can I still use the ipod accessories such as car stereo?

yes only ipod works with ipod thats why you get a stereo with aux input

Definitely, they will know, just ask for an mp3 aux cable for your car, they will have them.

If it only has the long bar to hook to something, then it’s iPod-only. If there’s something that will connect to where you put heaphones, then you’re fine.

Most places carry things for both iPods and other players. Your options are more limited as far as accessories go with a non-Apple product, but they do most certainly exist.

Anyone who knows much of anything *should* be able to tell you what your options are. Just tell them what you have (mostly what they’d need to know is just that it’s not an iPod), and see what they have. Even if you don’t have a handy input on the front of your stereo, you may be able to run one out from the back of the stereo (it takes pulling the whole box out, although it’s easier than that sounds) if there’s an empty input there and you buy the little cable to do that.
