This iPod charger functioned for a while, but it is delicate. Even with very careful use, the outer cord covering detached and opened up where it entered the plug that attaches to the iPod.
My iPod Nano battery seemed to loose capacity too quickly and died about the same time the charger’s cord split. I did not frequently top-off the Nano’s battery, but followed the recommended protocol of charging only when the battery was fairly low. Total life span of the Nano’s battery was under 15 months, and it was not used heavily. I suspect, but do not know, that this rather short battery life might have something to do with a charging voltage that is a bit too high. This charger is probably best suited as a secondary charger for occasional use.
I suspect that Apple chargers do a better job of maximizing the life of the very expensive iPod batteries. FYI: A famous auction site has Hong Kong suppliers selling Apple wall chargers for less than $10 delivered.

So far this product has been great. I hated having to charge my ipod through the computer, since I didn’t always have it turned on. This charger takes care of that and allows me to charge my ipod when traveling. You can’t beat the price either!

Seemed to work once connected. But the connector on this product fit extremely tight into the iPod (hard to connect). I was concerned that the tight fit might eventually damage the iPod connector. My daughters were not able to easily make the connection. I quit using the charger for this reason.
