This little gadget is a fantastically brilliant idea, unfortunately it didn’t live up to the expectations i had for it. It mounts tidily on the dash and my ipod charges beautifully with it there, but I can’t see the title of the song that’s playing easily. This is just an accident waiting to happen because it bothers me and my eyes keep flicking back to the screen and I am not paying attention to the road. On the same note I’m also finding it hard to change to a song or playlist with it mounted this way because my fingers are fat and i’m missing the right songs etc. With the normal tape adapter I could hold the ipod steady with my hand and change the screens with my thumb (one handed) without barely having to look.

My husband can’t use it at all because he is legally blind and can’t get close enough to the dash to make out the screen It’s a shame but this will be going right into the trash as soon as the new tape adapter i ordered arrives.

Maybe it is just my cassette deck in Jeep, but there is absolutely no depth to the music. Glad I read a few other reviews on not being easy to insert into deck, but I did learn the “touch” for mine to work and stay inserted into deck. Nice to have the music, but no matter how I adjust the equalizer, the music is missing the depth.

  3. Weell thought product, but unfortunately the sound quality leaves to be desired (Ipod touch 32Gb). I went back to my old regular cassette which provides a much better sound. Also, its really difficult to enter the cassette into the deck, I had to try and retry at least 50 times for the deck was ejecting it. In conclusion, if you like good sound dont buy it.

I bought this when they were first released back in September 2009. They are a little “hissy” and the bass is a bit low, but with an EQ tweak, sounds just fine in a car. However, they a fragile. Mine died in six months from heat, and it isn’t even summer yet. Switched to a cheap cassette adapter instead.

  5. I have been looking for a while for an all in one solution for listening to my iPhone music in the car. Sure I could change my Toyota Sienna 2004 original radio but that seemed too complicated and too expensive. This iDeck does it all. 1)It holds my original iPhone (2G) perfectly in place and gives me easy access to it. 2) It charges my iPhone. 3) Sound quality of the music on the car stereo system is very good (9/10). 4) The Aux input (along with a 6′ long 3.5mm mini audi cable) would allow my kids to control their ipod from the back seat. Like other reviewers it took me a while to understand how to insert it. Once it was in, it was magic!
